More Writing Contests (Warning: most of these contests are free to enter)

Humdinger wants you to become a successful writer. We won't be selfish, either. Submit with us and with other publishers and make your own future as a writer.

Below are writing contests not sponsored by Humdinger. We don't claim to know anything about most of these contests, but we heartily endorse writing, taking risks and having fun. Humdinger also wants struggling writers to have the opportunity to enter FREE WRITING CONTESTS. If you win any contests, if you learn of any writing contests, or if any of these links are dead, let us know at: Editor@humdingerzine.com

Fantasy Short Story Contest (small fee charged)

Remember that Fantasy fiction is not Science Fiction, but is more fantastical and less technical. Star Trek would be an example of Science Fiction, but Lord of the Rings is an example of Fantasy fiction. Stories up to 10,000 words, rated PG-13 to R. Deadline is apparently ongoing.
